Superstar Rajinikanth Look 20 Years Younger On The Big Screen

Apart from make-up and superstar Rajinikanth's child-like behaviour, many other factors are involved in making the 65-year-old actor look at least 15 to 20 years younger on the silver screen. One of India's biggest superstar's, Rajinikanth is still going strong. But, masking his real age in order to suit his on-screen character is quite a task.

"I have found that fair-skinned actors age faster. The creases and wrinkles show faster and are more pronounced. I don't think Rajinikanth encountered a wrinkle till he was around 50," make-up artist Sundaramurti had said in one of his interviews to Times of India. "We work more on the things around him. The digital touch-up to the face is minimal," another make-up man had said. When it comes to his costumes, designers usually make sure Rajinikanth wears buttoned up shirts with either a tie or a scarf around his neck.
Since it is difficult to hide the wrinkles around his neck, clothing around his neck area is a must. Also, the star actor is usually asked to grow beard, which makes life easier for make-up artists. While make-up artists do their best to showcase a younger Rajinikanth on the big screen, visual effects are said to take care of the rest.
